About attheintersect
I’m Georgia and attheintersect is my blog. I write about anything that I find interesting or thought-provoking, and cover everything from Brexit to Beyoncé. Some posts are about books that I’ve enjoyed, while others are about current affairs, products I’ve enjoyed using, or people I’ve met who have an interesting perspective to share. Frankly, I write about whatever has sparked my interest at a particular moment in time. In terms of my personal views, I believe in progressive politics, and as such, many of the articles that I post on attheintersect are political. I believe it important to be proactively anti-racist, and I am constantly asking myself how I can be a better ally. I am a proud supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, and feel it is important to highlight the discrimination regarding sexuality that persists at both a state and societal level globally. I am an intersectional feminist, and seek to demonstrate the ways in which intersecting inequalities contribute to the experiences of those who self-identify as women.
About me
Aged sixteen I became curious about how the world works from a political and economic perspective, and I’ve spent the past decade developing my understanding of these areas. This initial curiosity has led to an interest in a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to): societies and social change, tech and startups, progressive politics, macroeconomics, international relations and tackling inequality - notably classism, racism, homophobia and sexism. Professionally, I have spent the past year working in venture capital - currently at Anthemis Group, and formerly at MMC Ventures. Prior to that I worked in tech startups in London and Hamburg and as a financial journalist. I graduated from the London School of Economics with an undergraduate degree in Sociology, and spent an exchange year at Sciences Po in France.
