Interests
I am primarily interested in two things: art and progressive politics. I love making and enjoying art, and - after many years neglecting my creativity - I increasingly see art as a vitally important part of my life.
I am also deeply curious about the world. The past, the present, the future; how things have worked, how things currently work - or don’t work, and how things might work in the future. I care about how we address key social and political issues of our time, and I’m continuously fascinated (and horrified) by global politics.
Education
I’m state-school educated and a graduate of The London School of Economics. I studied Sociology and spent a significant amount of time reading and thinking about class, inequality, gender, race, immigration, nations, political movements and technology.
Studying Sociology fundamentally reshaped how I think, interpret, and exist in the world, and I thrived on the intellectual rigour of the degree. I wrote my dissertation on the impact of AI on white-collar labour, using a Sociological lens to analyse the potential consequences. What we are seeing today regarding AI is something that I was analysing and thinking deeply about a decade ago.
Life
In my twenties, I picked up my life and moved, twice: first to France and then to Germany. I met incredible people, explored Europe and saw a huge amount of the good in humanity. The kindness of strangers who became friends impacted me significantly.
I learnt that moving solo to another country & attempting to learn the language is, unsurprisingly, hard. And, in many ways I was completely crazy to think that either plan was a good idea. But in hindsight, both experiences were worth the challenges that came with them.
Work
I have over a decade of experience working across startups and finance. This work started during my gap year, where I worked at the Bank of England. I gained hands-on startup operations experience working at Onefinestay before pivoting to work as a journalist focused on global debt capital markets.
I joined Freenow in Hamburg, Germany, to focus on International Operations. I travelled extensively around Europe, working with each of the Freenow teams across ten European countries the company operated in at the time. After a formative time at Freenow, I moved from startup operations to startup investing and ecosystem management.
Reset
In summer 2025, I decided to take a year out. I wanted time to pause, recharge and reset. It was time for a well-deserved break to enjoy life, explore the world, and delve into a few projects that I’d been working on in my spare time.
